The Year End Review at shoryuken.com community 2003 March 10th, 2004
Speaking of the highlights for 2003, while wondering what lies ahead for 2004.

Empire Arcadia (Inc) entered the Shoryuken community early 2003 and gave an impact that was both good and unexpected. Uniting top east coast players to compete together and represent a union of gamers found on the east coast of America, Empire Arcadia (Inc) wanted to make sure that they were not the east coast but a legion of gamers from it.

Empire Arcadia (Inc) existed long before the SRK community however the first recorded battle in the name of the Empire when it first arrived in the community was through an Arcadian named "Santhrax". Competing at North East Championship 2002, the first real significant news of Empire Arcadia (Inc) came when Santhrax defeated Justin wong in a team match. That sparked a small flicker of the coming ahead. Later during that tournament Justin Wong would then redeem what was lost to him by beating back Santhrax in the signals match, and tying it up between the both of them. However it would remain at that time that Santhrax was the first fighting gamer from the east coast to ever defeat Justin in a set of games for Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

Later in the New Year Justin Wong found himself upon the door steps of Empire Arcadia (Inc) rented store front. An unseen circumstance made it all possible as he would learn more about Empire Arcadia (Inc) and found it to be something in which he liked and found connection to. Eventually he joined, and was given the name "Marvelous". Now having both Marvelous and Santhrax on the same force they became one of the most deadly tandems to ever play Marvel vs. Capcom 2. They journeyed to the west coast to a tournament at U.C.L.A. This tournament was hosted by tips and tricks the videogame magazine. This is where they visited Ricky Ortiz a friend of theirs for a while now. Competing together Marvelous spoke to Ricky Ortiz about Empire Arcadia (Inc) which peeked Ricky's interest, next stop, East Coast Championship 8.

The gathering of the east coast finest gamers along with top west coast players such as Jason cole made E.C.C. 8 a great turnout. The arcade was packed and all types of action took place. Only days before E.C.C. 8 Ricky had already encounter TheeTriforceGameMaster, the head leader of Empire Arcadia Inc. It appeared that they saw eye to eye on a lot of things and came to an agreement which as a surprise to many. Ricky Ortiz would then represent Empire Arcadia (Inc). Splitting a three way 1st in Capcom vs. SNK 2. This didn't sit to well with many of the gamers within the community, as they could only hope that this would only be some sort of club. How the community could ever be so wrong.

From Jeron, to Julian Robinson, Santhrax to Shen, Ricky to Marvelous, Ako to Q, Kreymore to Flash; Empire Arcadia (Inc) had its largest force ever to this day assembled to one tournament to compete and represent the Empire State and its organization. Socializing and meeting other top contenders in the Shoryuken community, Empire Arcadia members quickly associated themselves with a friend previous to them before their induction to the Empire or with new friends in which they met there at the tournament. Shen~Yin who is new to the community met Jason cole. Jason Cole was the two time Street Fighter Super Turbo Champion. They talked about fighting games and the different dimensions of them from Street Fighter to Virtua Fighter. Acquainting himself with many of the other gamers out there Shen~Yin found a rekindling for the arcade scene.

As the tournament finished it turned out that Empire Arcadia's members ranked top positions for most of the tournament with the exception of Arturo who later found himself faced with the same circumstance that brought Marvelous and Ricky to Empire Arcadia (Inc).
Everyone enjoyed each other's company for the most part at East Coast Championship 8, congregating outside to hanging out with friends in hotel rooms playing Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Overall it was a great tournament hosted and created by Jet Phi.

After the tournament, Marvelous returned back to where Empire Arcadia (Inc) was stationed and he brought some good news and a gift. There in the one of the Tips and Tricks magazine was Santhrax and Marvelous inside of Tips and Tricks with the organizations name under them. T.F.G.M. was very pleased about this and knew that this was the beginning of things to come for Empire Arcdaia.

Midwest Championship's came and went. Ricky and Flash represented Empire Arcadia (Inc) in a big way by dominating the competition and paving the road for the name. This continued on all fronts for the Empire. In every possible community in New York City they could reach. From the Pokemon Center, to China town fair Empire Arcadia (Inc) wanted its presence to be felt on all levels of gaming. This became a huge concern to the leaders of the Empire, as a question was brought to the attention of the Emperor. What if other gamers got the wrong impression about the empire? The Emperor of Arcadia did not want other gamers to feel alienated and cast to the side because they may feel inferior to the gamers of the empire. Thus something had to be done to give back to the gamers. The Empire then opened its doors to the public for where they could come in and shop and play games for free with other members of the empire. Learn tricks and trades of certain games, and any questions about gaming was answered by fellow members of the empire. Knightmare, Kroy, Pyro14, and others.

Summer time was at its mid point and Evolution was around the corner, and although this would be the first combined assault of a union from the east to go up to the west Empire Arcadia (Inc) understood its task ahead. Knowing that the road to victory at Evolution will be long and hard, yet not "Impossible" they understood there chances, and went to evolution with one concept in mind, to make a statement. Rise of the Legion of Gamers. Placing 2 spots in the top 10 in Capcom vs. SNK 2, top 5 in Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, and 1st/2nd in Marvel vs. Capcom 2 against all odds, members that "represented" Empire Arcadia (Inc) delivered a message that would set the tone for things to truly come. Nothing is impossible.

Fall came and there was only Midwest Championship, M.A.G. fest, and N.E.C. 2003. Empire Arcadia (Inc) established an impressive personal record for its organization and gamers. They ranked top 5 in every major and local tournament for the year up until Midwest, M.A.G. fest and N.E.C. 2003. It would only be appropriate for the Empire to conclude the year winning and participating in the last three events it was scheduled to go to. Splitting the Empire into 3 units the Empire attended all three tournaments and place 1st in 3 or more tournaments at Midwest Championship 2, 1st in 6 tournaments at M.A.G. fest, and with Santhrax and Marvelous at the helm, total domination of North East Championship 2003.

Closing the year on a good and busy Christmas, T.F.G.M.'s only concern is what he could use the Empire to give back to the community, for it has not met its principle reason for existing. Although this was disheartening for him, he would not lose focus on what he wanted to give back. Vowing that 2004 would be the year the Empire strikes back.
