Hail From South Florida Jume 17th, 2004
A soldier spreads the coming of the Empire.

Well since I'm the only member of Empire Arcadia located in South Florida, I believe its time to make a name for myself besides Initial D: Arcade Stage Version 2. Since I know I'm pretty talented in fighting games, I decided to enter Gameflex III: Battle royal in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on June 5th. When I 1st entered the building, I saw a bunch of players ready for "war", especially the games I entered (which was King of Fighters 98, SNK vs Capcom: Chaos, and Street fighter 3: Third Strike.

Well first off I got to meet my good friend David Robinson (Founder of Gameflex) and he's a very nice person and a great fighting game player. As soon as I registered I decided to take a crack @ Street Fighter Alpha 3, since there were a lot of people playing it. When it was my turn to play, I decided to pick Zangief and test my skills against other competitors. I found out there were a lot of good players there as I fought most of them, until this player came up. He quickly picked Charlie (V), so I had to play a little more seriously. I decided to pick Akuma (V). Well in a matter of minutes I got owned, lol. It was a good thing I never entered Street Fighter Alpha 3, or that would have been it for me right there.

Well I had to wait hours because they decided to run other games, such as Halo, Project Justice, Mario Kart: Double Dash, and Garou: Mark of the Wolves. I must say The Mario Kart Matches was pretty amazing! I was impressed at all the races. Especially the finals, which I recorded; they were hot to death! Congrats to Steven for winning the Mario Kart tournament.

As for Garou.hehe, my friend Swen entered that one and got sent to the losers and then got peaced out the next round. I think that he his better at Smash Bros. As we move on, the Garou finals were entertaining also. And I congratulate David Robinson for winning Garou. Next was Project Justice Finals. Lovell of T.E.K (The Elite Krew) and Azagoth finals was simply amazing! Especially my 1st time watching Project Justice competitive play. The combo system was simply the best I've seen since MvC2. In the end, Lovell fell short and lost. Congratulations to Azagoth for winning Project Justice. Halo matches were not what I was expected with the exception of Troy Boy's ownage. This guy is amazing, but his friend Eric won due to the fact that it think Troy let him win. But For 2 v 2, Troy and Eric clean houses. Congratulation guys, spend the prize money well.

Well after all that was done, its time for the King of Fighters 98 tournament, which I entered. I was a little scared due to the face that this was my 1st SNK tournament ever! But I was ready also. Well the 1st round I had to fight a guy name Sean. Well he was a pretty good match but was simple enough for me to get pass. I eliminated him 2-0 and sent him to the loser's bracket. Then the next round I get to play Luigi, now this was really the time for me the test my skills. Well the 1st match was good but I lost for now its 1-0 Luigi. Now I have to get a little more serious, the 2nd match it was down to 1 person left, Terry vs. Terry. I ended up winning the 2nd match so now its 1-1. Now this is it, the 3rd and final match between I and Luigi. Just like the same, it was down to Terry vs. Terry in the last round. I was a jab away of defeat then I find an opening spot and got him the super combo. I won that awesome match 2-1 and sent Luigi to the Losers Bracket. 4 rounds later I move on the grand finals after beating a player who I could not remember in winner's finals. Now in the grand finals it was me against Andreas. Now I was told that he's was Game flex 2 King of Fighters 98 winner. So this must be good. Since it was the grand finals, the matches were 4 of 7. Basically long story short, I was down 3-1 and then I caught up and defeated him 4-3, and won the King of Fighters 98 tournament.

Now my next tournament. SNK vs. Capcom: chaos and 3rd strike is going on @ once. Well I was doing pretty well until I ended up playing Alex Navarro in quarters. My goodness this guy's Chun-li is the hardest thing I ever faced. The jumping B is like almost unstoppable. But I barely defeated him with my terry 2-1 and sent him to the loser's bracket. Now after that I started my 3rd Strike rounds, the 1st 5 rounds I won and I used Yun SA3. Then I was called back to SNK vs. Capcom and played Azagoth in the winners finals and defeated him with my chun-li 2-0. Now I move on to grand finals. Then I got called back to 3rd Strike and I have to face Lovell. Now this is the sad part as I got destroyed 2-0. Then get sent to the loser's bracket. Then as soon as I got to the loser's I got scrapped by Rick 2-0! I was completely annihilated. Now I have to win SNK vs. Capcom to make up for my defeat. As I was looking at the loser's finals between Alex N. vs. Azagoth, It became a one sided fight as Alex N. moves on to the grand finals to face me. Now I have to be beat twice since I never lost. Now this happens to be a tough match. But to make a long story short, He beat me 4-2. Then I ended up as the underdog. He was one win away while it was 3-1, then I found his weakness and stopped him by time! A strategy few remember and use, but I was fortunate enough to figure a way to defeat him and Won the match 4-3. I dedicate my efforts to compete and be apart of the community for Beast Coast and Empire Arcadia. I won over 100 dollars cash prizes too. I was very happy that it was over and that I was able to compete against valiant players that I give my respect to for competing with great sportsmanship. It was a great experience and I earned lots of respect after Game Flex III. Now Game Flex IV is coming up on Labor Day Weekend and I hope that The main division of Empire Arcadia can come and attend it. It will feature the latest games and it will be a 2-day tournament this time! This Is Dwayne Buchanan signing off.

Hail to the Empire.
