Saturday November 13 2004, Pokemon USA had a surprise for the gaming community in New York City. Putting what gamers consider the new Game Boy DS out on the show floor for demo play, it gave both customers and gamers a hands on experience with the new hand held made by Nintendo. The Stylish new sleek version of the system looks a whole lot better than its original mock up. The system is a whole lot smaller and feels a much better in person. Launching at the Pokemon Center for first come sales, gamers who can not find pre-order options in other retailers can rest assured that their will be enough at the Pokemon Center for many. Many have already planned camp out of the store Saturday night until the morning for their purchase.
With great titles on the horizon such as DS versions of The Legend of Zelda, Pokemon: Diamond and Pearl, Super Mario Brothers, and Final Fantasy games to come the DS life will be just as successful as the Game Boy Advance if not more. Triforce took the time to head down to the feature of the DS and get some coverage on the hand held masterpiece and got to interview a few gamers who tried out the game and got a few words from them.
"I think it's great! It's a huge improvement over the Game Boy Advance. The graphics are really nice, and they look much better in person than what I've seen on the net and in the magazines. The control is really intuitive; it feels similar to a mouse and keyboard. Finally a hand held made for both PC and console gamers."
Joey Papperello
"I like the idea that you can chat. I really like the picto chat application for the DS. It would be real fun to use at school with my friends so that we can chat."
Melanie Huttner
"It's better than I first thought I never thought a screen would make a good controller. I think I'm going to buy it. I was going to wait for other colors, but its good enough for me to buy on launch."
