The Arcadian Renaissance: Virtua Fighters April 27th, 2009

Empire Arcadia invades WCG's Fighter Club with an Army of Fighters.

Final Defense for the Empire State City

When it rains it pours and in the month of April the competition poured in for Empire Arcadia, both online, network television and at events. It first started at MLG Meadowlands where Justin Wong made the Empire's presences felt by destroying the competition with 100 victories and 0 losses. Later in the month Justin Wong went out to the GameStop National Street Fighter 4 Tournament and took out the competition bringing the National Championship to the Shrine of the Empire.

Then Prod1gy X completed the WCG Gauntlet in episode 7 making it to the Grand Finals of the WCG's Ultimate Gamer Show. Later in the same Week the Emperor of Arcadia; TriForce won MLG/GameBattles first Street Fighter 4 1vs1 Online Competition. Finally Justin retakes certain stage for the Empire and brings his GameStop National Championship title to World Cyber Games Fighter Club and dominates the competition going undefeated in the tournament.

The Legion of Gamers Return

TriForce, Prod1gy X and Justin Wong are only 3 of many who power Empire Arcadia's competitive force. Where the three cover many genre's of gaming competitively from Classic to new school it is the force of its army that backs up what they do. In Virtua Fighter 5, Rodney "Konjou" John and Dennis "Denkai" Sockwell fought through the depth of skill of the NYC Virtua fighter community. With players such as AdamYUKI, Yohsuke Iizuka, CIDKID and more, the two had a long and hard climb to the top.

Rodney was cut off at 5th in the competition but his team mate Denkai took it to the top where he faced Japanese native Yohsuke Iizuka who took out Denkai in the finals. The competition was feirce as both competitors used Shun D and Akira. Yohsuke played a very aggressive game against Denkai, as Denkai tried to calculate his attacks using some fuzzy guards however Yohsuke's drinking power with Shun D made the few attacks that he used on Denkai more than enough to take the damnage needed to win the match. When Yohsuke switched characters to Akira his offense only intensified sealing the victory.

A Legend once broken has now returned to the Empire to be remade. Carl "Perfect Legend" White returns to his first gamer home where he is looking to change the game in which he has mastered over the years. Perfect Legends return to the Empire at the WCG Fighters Club was perfect timing as he represented Empire Arcadia in Dead or Alive 4. In his retirement game Perfect Legend has decided that WCG's Fighter Club was the perfect platform in which he could make the transition to another competitive fighting game; that fighting game is Street Fighter 4. Perfect Legend placed 9th in the over all competition.

Perfect Legend has interest in Tekken 6 where word in the community has said that there will be a GameStop and Namco collaboration in terms of a National Tournament. With Tekken 6 and Street Fighter 4 as the new games of choice for Perfect Legend to compete it, his solid top 10 placing will transform the Perfect Legend that we know now into someone completely different. This time Perfect Legend vows to let his skills do more of the talking for him.

The Power of Empire Arcadia

Since the release of Street Fighter 4 earlier this year, Empire Arcadia has placed top 3 ranks in tournaments that go back as far as February. Although Justin has won the majority of these tournaments, other members in the Empire who rank second through fifth have always complimented him in the win for the Empire. At Sinsation, Marn and Andre both ranked top 5 with Justin's third place showing where he took his first lost to Street Fighter 4 sensation "Gootecks".

At the GameStop National Street Fighter 4 Round 3 Qualifiers, Justin was not the only one in Empire Arcadia to have qualified for the US top 16. Ari "Floe" Weintraub and Rahsaan "EvilRahsaan" also made it with Justin to Round 4 of the tournament. During Final Round 12, Justin got his revenge on Gooteck's when he defeated him in the Grand Finals to win Final Round 12 but once again, Justin was not alone as Marn took 4th in the competition.

Finally at the World Cyber Games Fighter Club, nothing has changed for the Empire as Sanford "Santhrax" Kelly and Evil Rashaan tied for 5th

respectively. Arturo "Sabin" Sanchez sealed the deal for Empire Arcadia when he played Team mate Justin Wong in the grand finals, giving Empire Arcadia the top 2 spots for Street Fighter 4 at the World Cyber Games Fighter Club.

After the Grand Finals for Street Fighter 4, TriForce gathered around the remaining members of Empire Arcadia to host a closing interview for World Cyber Games and Samsung who provided excellent television equipment and service for the event. TriForce gave out special thanks to World Cyber Games and Samsung for providing an excellent tournament. TriForce then handed the mic over to Swoozie, who is a recognized gamer for his accomplishment and works in Championship Gaming Series, World Cyber Games Ultimate gamer and his community development services and products for competitive gaming, was the general host for the World Cyber Games Fighter Club. Swoozie gave nothing but praise to the gamers of the fighting scene and looks forward to more event such as fighter's club in the future. Noobtube.tv was on hand to exclusively cover the post tournament interview and will be available for viewing at http://www.noobtube.tv/.

With only a few days remaining in the month of April, Empire Arcadia has already begun to scout out many different game related events and topics in which they will use their influence and presence to further develop the videogame community, industry and culture. Next stop, FunSpot 11; where Empire Arcadia looks to showcase their skills in classic gaming keeping true our ability to be diverse as people and as gamers. We look forward to seeing you there.
