Since the foundation of Empire Arcadia, Inc. in 2002, the Gamer Empire has established itself as a force to be reckoned with in the competitive scene. However in the competitive realm the Empire has pretty much publicly dominated the Fighting, Puzzle and Classic Arcade genre. Behind the scene the Knights and Valkyries of Arcadia have played numerous games in multiple genres throughout the years. Although they have not expressed this to the public the Empire has continued its search for gamers that match the love and ambition of what its gamers continue to do competitively today.
Fast forward to 2009 and you will notice that the Knights and Valkyries of Arcadia are found constructively providing content to a multitude of elements in today’s gaming industry. From Justin Wong winning the 2009 Game Stop Street Fighter 4 US National Championship; to Prod1gy X setting a Guinness World Record in Rock Band 2 at the World Cyber Games US Open; to finally TriForce receiving the Video Game Hall of Fame Medal of Honor at the International Video Game Hall of Fame Launch Party the Empire has been a dominate force in the competitive scene throughout the majority of this year.

Center during Anime Fest, the Empire once again displayed its dominant competitive force. This time the Empire show cased its players in the one genre of gaming that many believed the Empire was not capable of winning in. This genre was the “FPS/TPS Genre”. The First Person Shooter (FPS) and Third Person Shooter (TPS) genre have both become popular genres for competitive gaming throughout the years and goes as far back as Quake and Doom for the (PC) Personal Computer.
Enter the Age of the Gun Knight:
In the shooter competitive scene, “Legacy” (a Gears of War 2 Team) has won Major League Gaming’s season opener The “Meadowlands” and has placed top 10 in the last 2 MLG events: Ohio and Dallas. Since joining the Empire the team has dominated Game Unicon Gears of War 2 (2v2 and 4v4) competitions. Riding on the high of that win, Legacy recruited a 4th player called Mephisto going into WCG’s National Finals. With various strong teams like the “Nsan3s”, “The Business: MBN”, “vVv Destiny”, “Raw Talent” and more; Legacy had some tough competition ahead of them. |
After going against the wave of solid professional teams that are only invited exclusively to World Cyber Games, Legacy met Raw Talent in the Grand Finals of the WCG Nationals. Legacy came into the finals undefeated and convincingly beat Raw Talent 2-0 to win the WCG National Championship. This National win established Empire Arcadia’s presence in the competitive shooter scene. Although many will continue to argue the legitimacy of WCG competitions, Legacy has no problem attending other tournaments and continue to compete against other top teams in the Nation. Legacy’s next stop will be MLG Anaheim, where they are seeded as the #4 team in MLG
Taking the Stage:
Although Legacy made headlines for the Empire at the WCG Nationals, they were not alone. Empire Arcadia showed up in full force to support their Gun Knights. Prod1gy X was also in attendance and set up shop at the WCG “Player Lounge” where gamers had a chance to go against him in Halo 3 an Gears of War 2 in the (1v1) Challenge. Prod1gy X went 57 – 1 in Halo 3 and 34 – 0 in Gears of War 2 in casual play. He was given the honor to hand out the Plaques to the top 3 professional teams that and was proud to hand out 1st place to his Empire Arcadia teammates Legacy. |

Denkai and Konjou, both Virtua Fighter 5 players for the Empire were invited to the WCG Nationals where they competed against some of the best players in the Nation. Denkai who lost to vVv Flash and was sent to the losers bracket fought his way back out and made it to the Finals. Denkai then faced off against vVv Flash in the Grand Finals where he fell short of winning the title. However his second place standing was a compliment to Legacy’s National title and a huge plus showing for the Empire as a whole at the WCG Nationals.
