Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Ultimate All-Stars
"New Age of Vs. Fighting.

It has been exactly 10 years since the release of another "versus game" from Capcom. During that 10 year stint, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 has dominated the competitive fighting game scene at the World Fighting Game Championships Evolution, "Evo". It was not until 2009 when Street Fighter 4 made its official debut at Evo, that the Fighting Game Titan dethroned.

During that time the United States greatest fighting game champion Justin Wong took 6 of the 10 World Championship titles. The first title was won by Duc in 2000. Then 2001 Justin Wong arrived and defeated Duc to win his first MvC2 championship. Justin then went on to defend his Championship for 3 more years (2002, 2003 and 2004) before Duc return back to the top of world in 2005.

In 2006, Sanford Kelly a team mate of Justin Wong was introduced at World Fighting Game Championships. It was his first Evo and he defeated the 2005 World Champion Duc in a exhibition grudge match. (See: Duc vs. Sanford Evo 2006) Over shadowing Sanford's excellent performance was Justin Wong's climb back to the top of the World Fighting Game Mountain. Justin defeated the West Coast new star Chunksta, and took his 5th World Title.

The following year Justin was then dethroned by a fellow Empire Arcadia team mate "IFC Yipes" in 2007 despite performing one of the greatest come back's in digital competitive history. (See: Yipes vs. Justin Wong) In 2008 Justin Wong then returned to glory for the 6th time, defeating Chunksta again in the Grand Finals. Finally in 2009 the most anticipated battle in Marvel vs. Capcom 2 competitive history came to past. Justin Wong the most dominant Champion faced off against Sanford Kelly his most tenacious rival, in one of the most intense matches ever. In the end Sanford Kelly came away as the 2009 Marvel vs. Capcom 2 World Champion, keeping the title inside the Empire for 4 years straight.

A New Age comes with some new Heroes

With Marvel vs. Capcom 2 no longer the King of the hill at Evo, a new game has come to replace it. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars looks to succeed its predecessor carry the vs. series for another decade. Boasting a simpler fighting engine Marvel vs. Capcom 2, the upgraded version of the game looks to draw in casual competitors who aspire to compete like the professionals of years past.

Marvel Champions such as Justin Wong, Sanford Kelly and IFC Yipes have already made progress in learning the games new fighting engine and are already engineering new strategies for advance competition. At Nintendo World Yipes and Sanford helped Seth Killian: "Evo" Director and Capcom's Community Director pre launch the game. (Recap: Nintendo World TvC Launch) Hosting interviews with Destructoid and giving out tips for the game, the two spoke about the transition it would take for the competitive community that is found in Marvel vs. Capcom 2 too migrate to Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars. Yipes and Sanford were very optimistic about the communities acceptance to the game and how healthy the scene would be in the early showing for the game competitively.

BattleField Arcadia X ushers in
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom
Let the Battle Begin!

With only 1 day after the pre launch of the game, Empire Arcadia's BattleField Arcadia X hosted the states first Tatsunoko vs. Capcom 2 tournament. Professional gamer Keits who has been a huge supporter of the game since its first installment in 2009 came down from Green Bay Wisconsin to help Seth Killian with the Pre Launch at Nintendo World and to also compete at BattleField Arcadia X's Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars tournament.

Keits took first place in front of Empire Arcadia's members Andre "Jago" Lambert who took 2nd and Sanford Kelly who took 3rd. It was Sanford's first TvC tournament ever and he was pleased with his performance. (See: BattleField Arcadia X) A couple of weeks later BattleField Arcadia XI held its second TVC tournament where Sanford Kelly tied for 1st Place with Joe "iloveu" Ciaramelli. Out in the West Coat Justin Wong has dominated the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom competition with no showing of anyone being able to stop him. (See: TvC Launch and TVC Family Fun Arcade) As the scene starts to develop, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is starting to sit in comfortably in place of Marvel vs. Capcom 2.
